A question as ancient as time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>

But also, a pointless interrogation in my humble view.<\/p>

Who are you?<\/p>

The smiling one with the light in your eyes? Daughter. Son. Forgotten friend? Wife. Husband. Mother. Father. The confused one. Ambitious. Torn. Divorced. In love. Alone?<\/p>

Life has many habits; it\u2019s designed to surprise, delight, alarm and cheat on you. A myriad. Still. The question begs \u2013 on hands and knees it seems.<\/p>

Who <\/em>are you? Does the answer catch in your throat?<\/p>

Maybe it\u2019s more comforting to believe something else entirely\u2026 Life may not want <\/em>you to<\/p>

know. Ever. Because the answer\u2019s a changing, shifting thing.<\/p>

You.<\/p>

Always evolving, morphing from one phase to the next. In silence. Uninterrupted by<\/p>

introspection. Undisturbed by the external?<\/p>

Your brain is electrified with change, daily. Cells in your body die and reimagine themselves back into being.<\/p>

Who are you<\/em>?<\/p>

Relax. Ignore society\u2019s urges to \u2018find yourself\u2019. To settle on your favourite dessert. Test your sexuality. Decide what you enjoy listening to, watching, reading. To quickly land on the definitives and be that, just that, love that for always.<\/p>

Pause. The. Pressure. Please?<\/p>

Maybe only some things should be discovered and kept in metaphorical amber forever.<\/p>

But you, my friend, are not. Far from a fossil (!). Can\u2019t be sealed with a kiss. For all time.<\/p>

Maybe you\u2019re like mercury. Amorphous. Dangerous to the touch if you try and force you<\/em> into shape. Or reach a once-and-for-all understanding of who you are.<\/p>

Then again, maybe not.<\/p>
